What is the theme of Founders Day 2023?

The theme is “Homecoming: A Season of Rededication and Reclamation”

What is the attire for attending Sorors?

Attending Sorors are requested to wear red attire. (Shoe color of your choosing).

Pants are permitted.

Will this be an opened or closed celebration?

Our Founders Day Celebration is CLOSED.

Will there be a Rededication Ceremony?

The Rededication ceremony hosted by Westchester Alumnae Chapter will be held virtually on Thursday, January 26, 2023. The ceremony will start at 8:00 PM.

What is the cost of the event?:

The event is SOLD OUT.

How will the seating be arranged?:

Every registered soror has been assigned a seat at a table with their chapter or “Guest Soror” designation. National Committee, Regional Committee, Immediate Past Regional Director, Immediate Past Regional Representative, Other State Coordinators, Chapter Presidents, Golden Delta Dears and Delta Dears will be seated together. At least one Table Hostess from the Host Chapter will be stationed at each table.

What is the responsibility of the Table Hostess?

The Table Hostess will act as the point person for each table, ensuring that sorors have an enjoyable experience. They will ensure that sorors are seated appropriately and that their luncheon orders are correct.

What food will be served?

The Luncheon Menu will consist of salad, your pre-selected choice of Chicken, Salmon or Vegetarian option for entree and dessert. We have selected a vegan and gluten-free meal as the vegetarian option. The meal count has been given to the venue per the soror’s selection at registration.

Are masks required?

According to New York State mandates, masks are no longer required in indoor spaces. We know that many sorors would feel more comfortable wearing masks during a large gathering like ours. We will provide masks to each attendee upon check-in to be worn at your discretion.

Is proof of a negative COVID-19 test or vaccination required?

According to New York State mandates, proof of a negative COVID-19 test or proof of COVID-19 vaccinations are no longer required to attend events. However, sorors are strongly encouraged to take a COVID-19 test 48 hours before the event. Please do not attend the event if you test positive or are not feeling well.

Will There Be Vendors?

Yes, we have a small number of select vendors that will be available during the event.

Will There Be Valet Parking?

No. The venue has ample free parking.

Will There Be a Coat Check?

Yes. You will be directed to check your coats after you check in and receive your table assignment.

Will There Be a Speaker?

Yes. We will have various speakers providing remarks and welcome. Additionally, we will have two guest speakers. Motivational Moment Speaker - Soror Thasunda Brown Duckett - President and CEO of TIAA and our Keynote Speaker - National President and CEO, Soror Elsie Cooke-Holmes.

Is there a host hotel?

Yes. Our host hotel is the Westchester Marriott located at 670 White Plains Road, Tarrytown NY 10591. Our room block is currently exhausted. However, reservations can still be made at normal rates.
